发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF SEALED ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY UTILIZING HYDROGEN ABSORPTION ALLOY NEGATIVE ELECTRODE
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a battery whose charging state is kept and life is long by assembling a battery, whose hydrogen absorption alloy electrode is overcharged, in an atmosphere of inactive gas, hydrogen gas, or a mixture of inactive gas and hydrogen gas. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode utilizing LaNi4.7Al0.3 as a hydrogen absorption alloy is spirally wound with a positive electrode with a separator interposed. A unit cell obtained is put into a beaker filled with 8N-KOH electrolyte, and charged at 500mA for 2hr to form part of the negative electrode in an overcharged state. Then the unit cell is accommodated in a container in an atmosphere of hydrogen whose pressure is higher than about 0.5atm. of an equilibrium plateau pressure at room temperature of the LaNi4.7Al0.3 alloy, and the amount of electrolyte is adjusted, then sealed to obtain a secondary battery. The battery A manufactured based on this invention shows only a small capacity decrease after 500 charge-discharge cycles as shown in the figure.</p>
