PURPOSE:To minimize internal cracking in a curving type multi-point continuous straightening and casting device by making the best use of the effect of known differential temp. cooling between top and bottom surfaces on the premise of said cooling. CONSTITUTION:The continuous casting device is so constituted that a molten steel is poured into the casting mold curved to form a curved continuous casting locus and that the unsolidified billet subjected to differential temp. cooling between the top and bottom surfaces is supported, guided, drawn and straightened by the rolls arranged in the lower part of the mold. The rolls are so disposed that the change rate of the curvature in the straightening profile of the billet with each roll is inversely proportional to the distance from the neutral axis moved by the differential temp. cooling between the top and bottom surfaces of the billet up to the solidification boundary of the billet. |
