PURPOSE:To copy making the contour and fold of a book blank without reference to its size by photodetecting reflected light from an original indication table and detecting the fold of the book, and preventing toner from sticking on the detected fold part. CONSTITUTION:For example, a switch 29 provided near an original platen is turned on and a signal generated by detected an original pressure plate 21 not contacting original platen glass 19 is inputted to an input port i12 of an MP55, which then judges that an original 20 is a book. When there are halftones having a reflection factor lower than a predetermined reflection factor in reflection density detected by a reflection density detector 35, the MP55 judges that a set of the halftones is present in the edge direction of the original 20 and outputs control signals to respective output ports O1-O9 so that LEDs corresponding to the positions of the halftones turn on. A driver 62 which receives the output turns on the LEDs corresponding to the positions of the halftones. Consequently, toner is prevented from sticking on the halftone positions. |
