PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for intricate load control in the stage of roll shifting by disposing bending cylinders between the journal boxes of upper and lower work rolls and engaging the cylinders vertically movably with a housing. CONSTITUTION:The bending cylinders 15, 17 are provided to the overhang parts 14, 16 of the journal boxes 2, 4 of the work rolls 1, 3 and bending blocks 18 contg. cylinders 19 are disposed between the parts 14 and 16. The overhang arm parts 23 of the blocks 18 are engaged vertically movably with the housing 9 by means of detaining members 24 and are fixed in the axial central position of the rolls by means of pawls 27. The distances from the center of the rolling mill to the cylinders 19 on the driving side and operation side are made always equal when the rolls 1, 3 are shifted from each other by the arms 10, 11 of shifting devices 12, 13. The need for the intricate load control of the bending cylinders in the stage of controlling the shape by shifting the rolls is thus eliminated. |
