PURPOSE:To enhance gradation and resolution of a color image by changing light transmittance of a each color filter of a color separation striped color filter in its lateral direction. CONSTITUTION:The filter density of each R, G, B filter of the striped color filter for color separation is made max. at the center of each stripe width, and made min. at both ends, and the light transmittance distribution is made min. at the center of each color filter in the lateral direction. A toner image after development has width in accordance with light intensity incident on the striped filter 3, that is, width corresponding to the brightness of e.g., red parts of an orignal, and a thin toner image is obtained from a bright red color part L-3, and a thick toner image from a dark red part L-1. Each toner image itself is formed in high density by the edge effect, but since it is difference in thickness, it can be recognized as an image superior in gradation by observation on the whole. The other collr images of the original are quite similar, and gradation reproducibiliyt and resolution of a completed color image is enhanced, too. |
