PURPOSE:A cell activator that contains an alpha-branched aminoacid or its derivative, thus developing satisfactory skin activation or hair tonic action, when it is added to a cosmetic for skins or hair in a small amount. CONSTITUTION:An aminoacid having a branched chain in the alpha-position of the formula (R1, R2 are straight-chain organic groups of 1 or more carbon atoms: R3 is H, straight-chain organic group of 2-24 carbon atoms) or its derivative, preferably valine, isoleucine, valine ethyl ester, valine tetraeicosane ester, 1- amino-3-methylheptadecanoic acid, 1-amino-3-methyloctadecanoic acid is added to a comsmetic for skins or hair as a cell activator, preferably in an amount more than 0.10wt% to give the objective cosmetic. Further, the addition of biotin and/or vitamin B12 more than 0.01wt% enables the amount of the cell activator to be reduced to about 1/5. |
