PURPOSE:A seed disinfectant that contains, as active ingredients, a combination of methyl 1-(n-butylcarbamoyl)-2-benzimidazolcarbamate and 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane, thus showing high effect against resistant fungi. CONSTITUTION:The objective seed disinfectant conains, as active ingredients, a mixture of (A) at least one selected from benomyl of formula I, 2-benzimidazole carbamate of formula II, 2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole of formula III and thiophanate methyl of formula IV and (B) 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane. The resultant disinfecant is used to disinfect seeds of a variety of crops such as rice plant, wheat or vegetables before seeding and especially it is effective in rice seeds infected with resistant strains of a microorganism causative BAKANAE disease and further it shows a high combatting effect against a fungus causing rice Helminthosporium leaf spot.
