PURPOSE:The titled monofilament that is made of a composition of polyvinylidene fluoride of high melt viscosity and a polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer of low melt viscosity, thus showing high knot strength and good melt extrudability to facilitate monofilament production. CONSTITUTION:(A) 80-97wt% of a polyvinylidene fluoride homopolymer of 1.15-1.28 etainh and (B) 20-3 wt% of polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer of 0.7- 1.1 etainh are mixed, melt-extruded at 240-290 deg.C into monofilaments, solidified by usual cooling, then drawn in a usual manner to give the objective monofilaments. As components B, a copolymerization product of vinylidene fluoride, as a major component, and other comonomers such as tetrafluoroethylene are used. |
