Panels for suspended flooring or duckboards are made from perforated sheet or latice structures of metal covered with a plastic coating. Pref. any high points on the metallic structure, e.g. on the nodes of interlaced mesh structures, are ground off and the metal is cleaned and abraded as appropriate before being coated. Coating is pref. applied by dipping in a PVC plastisol and then alternately tilting the grid by >=80 degrees in opposite directions to distribute the coating into all the recesses of the metallic structure. Used for flooring of stables, sties, hatcheries, etc. The coated mesh is warmer to touch and more corrosion resistant than uncoated metallic flooring, more rot proof and impermeable than wooden slatting, less abrasive than concrete.
|
