Bis-cysteinol and homo-cysteinol cpds. - useful as hypolipaemic agents

Pharmaceutical compsns. contg. (homo)cysteinol derivs. of formula HOCH2-CHNH2-(CH2)m-S-(CH2)n-S-(CH2)m-CHNH2-CH2OH (where n is 0-10 and m is 1 or 2) or their salts are claimed. Also claimed are processes for preparing cpds. (I). Cpds. (I) are hypolipaemic agents, some with comparable activity to clofibrate. In an example, (I; m=n=1) is prepd. from S-benzyl-cysteinol and dibromomethane.
