PURPOSE:To provide a dehydrator which can dehydrate cake down to a low moisture content by acting cooperatively a shearing effect and increased pressurizing force to the cake in filter cloths in both turning and transverse directions thereof. CONSTITUTION:The cake 5 is subjected to the shearing effect in may positions P1-Pn in the transverse direction of the filter cloth 6 by juxtaposed projecting line parts 14a when front rolls 13A having rugged circumferential surfaces 14 act on the filter cloth 6. The phases of the ruggedness of the rolls 13A, 13B and the rolls 13B, 13C are made different and therefore the cake 5 is successively pushed from the thick walled part 5a to the thin walled part 5b when the rear rolls 13B, 13C having the rugged circumferential surfaces 14 act on the filter cloth 7. The entire part of the cake 5 is thus subjected to the shearing effect. The contact areas between the surfaces 14 and the cloths 6, 7 are successively decreased in order of the rolls 13A, 13B, 13C to increase gradually the pressing forces of the rolls 13A, 13B, 13C to the cake 5. The increased pressing force is acted on the cake cooperatively with the above-mentioned shearing effect. |
