RUST PREVENTIVE TREATMENT OF METALLIC FITTING FOR VIBRATION-PROOF RUBBER

PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the formation of red rust on a metallic fitting for vibration-proof rubber by subjecting the fitting to cation electrodeposition painting then adhering the vibration-proof rubber thereto by using an organosiloxane adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION:A film 1 is formed by cation electrodeposition painting on the surface of the metallic fitting 2 for vibration-proof rubber. The vibration-proof rubber 4 is then adhered thereto by using the organosiloxane adhesive agent 3 suitable for the cation-electrodeposition-painted fitting and thereafter the rubber is vulcanized. The rust preventive power is maintained for a long period without elution of the film 1 painted on the metallic fitting by the above-mentioned method. The exfoliation at the boundary between the fitting 2 and the rubber 4 is thus prevented.
