PURPOSE:To surely perform recording, by installing groove sections, whose sectional areas in the radial direction of a magnetic disk are enlarged along the rotating direction of the magnetic disk, to the magnetic disk sliding surface of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Groove sections 61 and 62, whose sectional areas in the radial direction of a magnetic disk 7 are enlarged along the rotating direction of the magnetic disk 7, are installed to the magnetic disk sliding surface 5 of a magnetic head 60. The groove sections 61 and 62 are constituted in such a way that their widths are constant over the whole length but their bottoms are inclined so that their sectional areas at the flowing-in side in the running direction (direction B) of a magnetic disk 7 can be increased gradually toward the flowing-out side. When such constitution is used, air currents flowing in the groove sections 61 and 62 pass through the gradually deepened groove sections 61 and 62 and the pressure at the flowing-out side becomes lower than that at the flowing-in side. Therefore, the contacting surface 5 of the magnetic head contacts with the magnetic surface 7a of the magnetic disk 7 under a stable condition and recording can be performed surely with magnetic gaps 1, 2, and 3. |
