PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for bringing temperature to a set level, by providing a switching mechanism for adjusting temperature in the vicinity of a laser diode unit and controlling the switching operation of the switching mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A switching mechanism is provided in a casing section right above a laser diode unit LDU or at the side of the laser diode unit LDU. A temperature detector 26 measures the environmental temperature and outputs temperature information to a comparator 27 at real time. On the other hand, prescribed set temperature information of a laser diode LD is stored in a storage device 28. The temperature information of the storage device 28 is also outputted to the comparator 27. The comparator 27 compares the above-mentioned two inputs. The switching mechanism is controlled in accordance with the compared result of the comparator 27 and, therefore, the time required for bringing the temperature to a set level can be shortened. |
