The subject of the invention relates especially to means for assembling coaxial tubes. The device is noteworthy in that it is composed in part from one or more parts made from a material which is very deformable but not very compressible such as elastomers, so that, when the assembly is locked by bolts or screw-nut assemblies, the said parts interposed in the assembly or constituting one of the elements of the assembly act in permanent pressure so as to lock the elements in place, either by deformation in expansion during locking of the elastomer, or by the elastomer returning to its normal state after previously having been deformed in contraction. The invention applies mainly to assembling handlebars of cycles and similar vehicles on bends, as well as the assembly of handlebar and saddle stems in the corresponding tubes of the frame. <IMAGE>
