PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of a battery jar that accomodates a power generating element consisting of a positive electrode, negative electrode, and separator by comprising the battery jar with thermoplastic synthetic resin in which carbon powder is mixed in a specific weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:A button type alkaline battery is formed by filling a cup-type negative jar 1 made of thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. in which carbon powder is mixed 10-35% by weight with a negative electrode 2 that gelatinized zinc powder and caustic alkali with a gelatin agent, then filling a positive electrode jar 5 made of the same synthetic resin as the negative electrode jar 1 with a positive electrode 6 consisting of manganese dioxide and graphite, opposing both electrodes through a separator 4, and airtightly closing the jars with an insulator 3. As a result, the rusting of the battery jars 1 and 5 is prevented and the corrosion due to acid in the stomach is prevented when children swallow the battery erroneously and then the battery life span and safety can be improved. |
