PURPOSE:To effectively and rapidly prevent an inverter device from entirely damaging by using a gate drive circuit power source as independent power sources at positive and negative sides of the DC power source of an inverter. CONSTITUTION:An inverter device flows an alternating current to a load 2 from a DC power source 1 through a switching element 11, a load 2, a switching element 14, a switching element 13, the load 3 and a switching element 12. The elements 11-14 are fired and extinguished by gate drive circuits 5-8 by a control pulse from a controller 10. In this case, the power sources 9A, 9B of the circuits 5, 8 are independently provided corresponding to the positive and negative sides of the power source 1. Thus, even if one of the circuits 5 and 6, 7 and 8 of the series elements 11 and 12, 13 and 14 become defective, the entire arm is not immediately shortcircuited. |
