PURPOSE:To aim at highly accurate machining for the desired aspherical surface, by machining the surface with a cutter installed in the other end of a turning rod having a flexible joint on a guide on a work turning shaft extension in a way of engaging the other end of a link attached to a bisection point of the rod on the extension. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 rotates at high speed around a shaft 3 by means of a rotation driving device 2, while a fixed pin joint 4 and a movable pin joint 5 are installed on an extension of the shaft 3, and the shaft 3 displaces along a parallel guide 6. And, a member 7 is supported on the joint 5 in its one end and provided with a cutter 8 in the other end. In addition, a member 9 is installed on a vertical bisection line of the member 7 whereby the member 9 is rotatably supported on the joint 4. Next, the cutter 8 is feedable by drive motion of the member 7 or the member 9. Thus, the cutter is feedable continuously with a simple link mechanism and, what is more, a sense of the cutter varies according to a variation in a tilt angle of the work surface and it is always constant so that a highly accurate aspherical surface is machinable. |
