The invention relates to a disc brake which comprises a stationary support, two friction pads arranged on opposite sides of a rotary disc, each pad having a rigid support plate to which a friction material is attached, a means for pressing the pads against the disc, at least one of these pads being mounted slidably on the support with the circumferential and opposite ends of this pad guided slidably by the support, and a thick part interposed between the support plate of the pad and the pressure means. According to the invention, the opposed circumferential ends 6b of the thick part 6 are shaped so as to constitute tongues inserted between the support plate and the support 2.
