PURPOSE:To facilitate the repair of a position of a short circuit, by projecting the first laser for inspection on the arbitrary region and position of the light receiving surface of a solar battery, detecting the presence or absence of the electric short circuit at the part, projecting the second laser on the part where the short circuit occurs, thereby insulating said part. CONSTITUTION:The thicknesses of a first electrode 2 and a second electrode 4, which are formed on an insulating substrate 1, are 1,000Angstrom and 4,000Angstrom , respectively. Together with the thickness of an a-Si film 3, the total thickness is about 1mum. With laser light 5 being projected locally on a light receiving surface, the projected part is scanned in the directions of X and Y. When the first laser for detection is projected on a short-circuited part, photovoltaic output 6 is changed. The second laser is projected on the part where the output change occurs, and the short-circuited part is insulated. Thus said part can be readily eliminated. |
