PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of expulsion and surface flash as a result of local heat generation and the generation of cavity in a weld nagget part by sticking a metal softer than metallic sheet to the welding part of the metallic sheet to an specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:The metal such as, for example, Au, Sn or Cu which is soft and has a low m.p. is stuck to >=0.01mum on the lap part or both surface parts of at the end of a can body as a pretreatment for resistance welding of the metallic sheet formed with an insulating film or surface treated steel sheet such as electrolytically chromated steel sheet. The ruggedeness on the metallic sheet surface is coated by the soft metal stuck to the metallic sheet, by which the gaps arising from the surface roughness are filled and closed. The welding is thus executed under the conditions of breaking the oxide layer which is the insulating film. |
