A device for holding a wheelchair (1) in a vehicle is provided with at least one holding arm (5) which can be attached to the vehicle and has a coupling element for connection to a frame part (2) of the wheelchair (1). At the front free end of the holding arm (2), a part (6) of a closing device is arranged and the other part (3) of the closing device is arranged on the frame part (2) of the wheelchair (1). The closing device can be constructed as a lock (6) with tongue (3) of a safety lock. In general, two holding arms (5) which are arranged at a distance from one another are provided and tongues (3) of the safety lock are attached to the two rear vertical struts (2) of the wheelchair (1).
