An add-on unit for platform trucks has a flat loading plate below which supports for supporting the loading plate are located at a distance above the loading surface of a platform truck. In addition, attachment means for attaching the loading plate and/or the supports to a platform truck are provided. The supports preferably form a free space between them in which a drawer is provided, the guide means of which are attached to the loading plate or the supports. The loading plate ensures the usual functioning of a platform truck, at the same time an additional loading space being provided below it which is protected and, additionally, can be easily closed off. The drawer ensures easy accessibility to the material accommodated in this additional space. <IMAGE>
