<p>The present invention relates to a method for operating a two-stroke, multiple-fuel internal combustion engine in which, when the load applied to the engine is modified, an action is applied onto a control organ by sending a signal to a control unit. The control unit outputs signals for controlling the cyclic fuel supply into the cylinders as well as the positions of the lever tilting axes, for ensuring the compression rate, the piston stroke value, the dead point positions and the working volume of the cylinders which have been previously determined, and for determining the number of cylinders in operation. The levers are connected by one end to a plurality of actuators while the other ends are connected to the pivots of the articulated connecting rods of the pistons. By modifying the position of the lever tilting axes, it is thus possible to modify the piston stroke value as well as the working volume of the cylinders according to the desired load.</p> |
