This arrangement can be used in many ways for measuring direct and alternating currents in electric line arrangements. The object of the invention of creating an arrangement which does not require intervention in the current-conducting conductor system is achieved by the fact that a finite number of narrow strip-shaped ferromagnetic magnetoresistive thin-film elements of identical dimension and having parallel-directed longitudinal axes are located at an equal distance, which is as small as possible, along the ribbon-shaped edging, extending in parallel with the planes of the layers of the elements and completely enclosing the current flow, of a space in the form of an arbitrarily bounded plane-parallel disc, and means for linearising the magnetoresistive effect, for reducing the temperature sensitivity and for summing the result signals of the magnetoresistive elements, are provided.
