An electrically driven cut-off screwdriver suitable for multiple arrangement on a support (46) is proposed, the screwdriver spindle (19) of which, longitudinally displaceable for coupling to and uncoupling from a drive motor (5), can be actuated by means of a likewise longitudinally displaceable, spring-loaded operating pin (60). When the support (46) is moved into the working position, a splined shaft (55) intended for carrying the tool is pushed into a spindle-bearing housing (4). In the process, it presses the operating pin (60) towards the screwdriver spindle (19) via a coil spring (59) accommodated in it and engages the separating clutch (11, 29, 30, 31) of this screwdriver spindle (19) by displacing the same. When the support (46) has reached its working position and is held in place there as usual, the same coil spring (59) forces the splined shaft (55) to follow the screw head moving away from the support (46) when screwing in the screw. Thus a fully automatic screwing-in operation is also made possible for electrically driven cut-off screwdrivers in a simple manner.
