PURPOSE:To enable color mixing of an image by controlling a toner flow rate to a liquid toner developing device of each color, selectively executing unsatd. and satd. development, and operating plural toner developing devices in unsatd. states, and only the final toner developing device in a satd. state. CONSTITUTION:The 3 liquid toner developing devices 25a-25c are independently moved up and down, and each develops an electrostatic latent image formed with an electrostatic recording head 30 to form a color image on an electrostatic recording paper 24. An excess liquid toner 41a attached to the paper 24 is recovered with a squeezer 36a. The paper 24 arrives at the liquid toner developing device 25b fed with the second color liquid toner 41b. The latent image is passed through a slit 35b and developed, and then, an excess liquid toner 41b is removed with a squeezing nozzle 36b. The flow rate of the liquid toner 41b in the second color liquid toner developing device 25b is set so that an unsatd. developed state in the first color liquid toner developing device 25a becomes a satd. state after the development. As a result, a color-mixed image different in mixing ratio can be obtained. |
