A boring bar comprises a first sleeve-like member 1 adapted to be secured directly to the drive head 2 of a boring machine; an outer casing 7 mounted on the first sleeve- like member with provision for relative rotary motion therebetween; a passageway through the outer casing and a connection means to the passageway for a supply of cutting fluid; and one or more passageways 10 through the sleeve-like member for the admission of cutting fluid to the interior of the sleeve-like member. A second sleeve-like member 3 extends from and is rotatable with the first sleeve-like member; and in use a boring bar 6 is located in the second sleeve-like member and extends into and is secured to the first sleeve like member to define an annular gap between the bar and members for the conduction of cutting fluid. <IMAGE> |
