A machine for making continuous lengths of a semi-rigid fringed strand, consists of a frame (1) with top and bottom platforms (10, 11) containing a rotor with a vertical axis linked to a vertical tube (28) at the top and equipped with radiating spokes (24) for wire and ribbon bobbins (3,4). The ribbons are cut into fringes by a pair of rollers with horizontal axes and twisted together with the wires to form the artificial tree branches.
