<p>This invention relates to a sound suppressor for a firearm utilizing an improved type baffle in the interior of the sound suppressor which controls the flow of gasses in a manner to improve the sound suppression characteristics of the device. To this end the central opening (40 min ) in the baffle (4 min ) has slanted sidewalls (42 min , 44 min ) defining a cylinder whose axis passes at a predetermined angle to the case axis (32 min ). Improvement in sound suppression may further be sought by disposing a liquid or pasty substance (80) in the chambers (7 min , 9 min , 23 min ) formed by the baffles (4 min ).</p> |
