<p>A viscous coupling has a chamber (32) containing a high viscosity fluid. The chamber is bounded by surface portions of rotatable members (10,20,28) to be coupled by the coupling, and the rotatable members have disc-like elements (40) which are interleaved with each other. There are at least three of these rotatable members (10,20,28), and the torque is transmitted between all of the members. Each wall section bounding the chamber is arranged so that no net axial force is exerted on the wall section by pressure arising inside the chamber.</p> |
