<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the change-over operation upon changing of paper sizes with the use of a paper size detecting device which is energized when a paper feeder is set on a copying machine, by slidably holding magnets arranged to be opposed to magnetic sensing elements, such that the position of each magnet may be displaced back and forth, and left and right. CONSTITUTION:A paper size detecting device is arranged such that a plurality of magnetic sensing elements 15, 15a, 15b are attached to the body of a copying machine, and a plurality of magnets 18, 18a, 18b are attached to side walls of a paper feeder removably attached to the body, at positions which oppose the magnetic sensing elements. There are provided a means for sliding and securing these magnets 18, 18a, 18b to positions other than the positions which affects the magnetic sensing elements 15, 15a, 15b, and a means for urging the magnets 18, 18a, 18b toward the magnetic sensing elements 15, 15a, 15b so that the positions of the magnets may be changed in accordance with the size of papers.</p> |
