PURPOSE:To omit the replacement of the whole roll when a part of the surface of the roll is deteriorated, to simplify maintenance and to reduce the cost of the roll by making it possible to separate plural elastic layers formed on the roller body successively from its surface in a press roller or the like of a printing machine or a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:A roller core material 11 of an elastic roller to be used for a picture formation device or the like, e.g. a fixing roller of an electronic copying device, consists of an elastic layer 13 made of heat cure type silicone rubber and a roller core 12. A linear member 15 such as a piano wire is embedded or adhered in/to a heat resisting/mold releasing type elastic surface coat 14 to be loaded to the roller core material 11 along the axial direction of its inner periphery and at leat one end of the member 15 is projected from the coat 14 to the outside of the axial direction. Even if the surface of the uppermost layer coat 14 is deteriorated or abraded, the member 15 of the layer is pulled up and removed and the next lower layer coat 14 may be used because the roller 16 is equipped with the plural coats 14. Thus, the roller 16 can be used for a long period without replacing the whole roller. |
