The present invention concerns a rail for track-bound and wheel-mounted vehicles, which rail consists of a support flange, a web and a rail head constituting the contact surface for the wheels. In connection with track-bound traffic, it is in many situations desirable to reduce external noise, internal noise, internal vibrations and external ground vibrations. By means of the fact that the contact surface of the rail head 3 has one or more grooves 4 which run parallel to the rail and into which there is pressed a profile strip 5 of hard polymer material, which strip 5 completely fills the groove and projects slightly from the contact surface of the rail head, it is possible to reduce these disturbances. <IMAGE> |
