The present invention relates to an automatic palletisation installation with interchangeable gripping tools. The installation according to the invention comprises a box-type framework 1 whose upper frame 4 forms a circulation path 5 for the handling carriage 6, the box being traversed in a first direction by the transporter 13 of the pallets and the transporter 14 for supplying the articles to be palletised penetrating transversely to the said first direction inside the box-type framework, and a magazine 21 for gripping tools or the like which can be used in the installation is mounted on the side opposite the transporter 14 for supplying the articles to be palletised with a device 25 for coming into position, under the area of movement of the gripping head inside the box-type framework 1, in order to remove the tool mounted on the said head and to supply the selected tool to the head and to mount it thereon. The installation is applicable to automatic palletisation. <IMAGE>
