This cable coiling box has a flat shape. It includes a bottom 24 and a lid 25 which are demountable. A cable housing 28 of annular shape with two points of access 29, 30, has a hollowed-out impression inside the bottom 24. Its outer periphery has the shape of an upside down capital omega 3 closed by a vault (roof) 32 whose ends face the feet of the capital omega and define, together with the latter, the points of cable access 29, 30. Its internal periphery 33 is circular and off-centred towards the base of the capital omega in order to make available, by simple traction on the cable, the greatest part of the length play left to a turn by the width of the annular housing 28. It is used advantageously in fibre-optic transmission frames (cases) for facilitating modifications to the distribution of the fibre-optic bundles of a cable between the various equipment levels. <IMAGE>
