METHOD FOR IMPARTING ANTISTATIC AND ANTI-FOGGING PROPERTIES TO POLYOLEFIN RESIN

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having long-term stability and excellent appearance and antistatic and anti-fogging properties, by blending an additive composed of a glycerol fatty acid ester and diethanolamide with a polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION:8-2pts.wt. glycerol fatty acid ester (A) having a monoester (derived from a 12-22C fatty acid) content of at least 80% is mixed with a diethanolamide (B) (e.g. lauric acid diethanolamide) derived from a 12-22 C fatty acid in such a proportion the sum of components corresponding to components A and B wherein a difference in the number C atoms therebetween is 0-4, is 70-80wt% of the combined quantity of A+B, thus obtaining an additive. 0.05-2.0wt% said additive is blended with a polyolefin resin such as PE or PP.
