Triazole derivs of formula Z-(CH2)-mCR1R2-(CH2)-nQ (I) and their agriculturally acceptable acid addition salts and metal salt complexes are new. - In the formula, Z is opt substd. 6-10C aryl; R1 and R21-12C alkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, 2-8C alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkenyl. 2-8C alkynyl, 6-10C opt. substd. aryl, or opt. ring substd. 7-14C aralkyl. R1 may also be CN and R2 may also be H; R1+R2 together complete 3-8C cycloalkylene. Proviso that when R1=CN, R2 can also be 1-4C alkoxy, 2-4C alkenyloxy or alkynyloxy. OH, 6-10C aryloxy or 7-14C aralkoxy both opt. substd. in the ring. Q is opt. substd. 1- or 4-(1,2,4-triazolyl); m=0 or 1. and n=1 or 2. - (I) prepd. e.g. by reacting Me2N.CR3=N-N=CR4.NMe2 with the appropriate primary amine (R3 and R4=H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, NO2 or CN) (I) are systemic fungicides effective against e.g. Helminthosporium teres; Botrytis cinerea; Erysiphe polygoni; Plasmospora viticola; Piricularia oryzae; Phytophthora infestans and Puccinia gramminis. They can be applied to growing plants or used as seed dressings. - In an example 4- 2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)hexyl -1,2,4-triazole was prepd. from 2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl) hexylamine and N,N-dimethyformamide azine.
