A connecting terminal for circuit boards, has a housing (1), and at least one current bar (6) of angular configuration, having at one end a connecting lug (7) and at its other end a bent holding end (8), at which the bar is cut away to at least half its width. The space inside the insulating housing (1) is arranged to accommodate two current bars (6) which are fitted together in mirror image relationship, and has two juxtaposed recesses (9) for the holding ends (8) and two spaced-apart exit openings (10) for the connecting lugs (7). In use, a conductor is inserted at (4) and clamped by a screw and stirrup arrangement (2,3). In this way, one or two current bars may be provided in a housing, according to mechanical and/or current requirements. <IMAGE>
