A plug-in connector has an attachment element 1 and a locking element 2 for the attachment of components 31, 32 to one another. The shank of the attachment element 1 consists of two shank parts 9', 9", which enclose a cavity and are separated from one another, and whose mutually facing edges 1 are spaced apart from one another by means of release grooves 11. A shank 4 of the locking part 2 has different dimensions in different radial directions, mutually opposite edges 26 of this shank 4, which is inserted into the cavity, engaging into the release grooves 11 (said edges 26 being separated from one another as a result of the larger dimension) when the locking element 2 is rotated into a predetermined first position with respect to the attachment element 1, in which first position the shank parts 9', 9" are not expanded. The shank 4 of the locking element 2 has the smaller dimension in a second direction, so that it does not engage into the release grooves when the shank halves 9', 9" are expanded (second position). In the first position, the shank 4 of the locking element is fixed against axial displacement with respect to the attachment element 1 by means of shoulders 44 of the shank 4 of the locking element 1, which engage over the upper ends 45 of the release grooves 11. <IMAGE>
