Dust-removal apparatus for grinding machines, in which the dust suction nozzle (4) in the vicinity of the grinding point is arranged substantially in the direction in which the jet of dust occurring during grinding is directed, and which apparatus is provided with a supply air duct (8). The problem with known dust-removal apparatuses is the great intake-air and power requirement, since dust is prevented from escaping into the air in the room by very powerful suction intake. In addition, the known suction apparatuses do not remove the dust collecting on the grinding face and impairing the grinding properties of the face. With a dust-removal apparatus corresponding to the invention, these problems are solved by there being arranged between the supply air duct (8) and the grinding face (2) of the grinding machine a blowing nozzle (7), which is directed at the face (2) in such a way that the blow of air coming from it prevents the grinding dust escaping between the nozzle (7) and the face (2), and which at the same time cleans effectively the surface of the abrasive belt. <IMAGE>
