The holder arrangement (1, 2) can be inserted in a self-retaining fashion in each case on the end faces of a trough-shaped, elongated luminaire housing (3). It has a head piece (2), which is fastened to the luminaire housing (3) and on which the actual lamp holder (1) is mounted capable of pivotting through approximately 90 degrees. Latching and stop means (1e/2f, 2e, 2g) permit a virtually rigid mutual locking of the lamp holder (1) and the head piece (2) in the operating position. Apart from a considerable saving in space for packing and transport, the easy-to-accomplish pivoting of the lamp holder from the fold-away position (1) (shown with full lines) into the operating position (1') guarantees mechanical stability and electrical safety for luminaires equipped in this way. <IMAGE>
