A low noise pneumatic vehicle tire has a tread with a plurality of sipes in the form of slits 9 which completely cross the tread. The slits are cut after the tread is formed so as to have substantially no width. The slits are at an inclination to the equatorial line of the tire, and at at least two different pitch spacings.
