In order to make an aiming device for a hand gun, which aiming device contains a night sight having an image-intensifier tube, suitable for day operation in a simple manner, a carrying handle is arranged on the housing of the night sight, which carrying handle holds the optical elements for a day sight. In consequence, it is not necessary to change the aiming apparatus for night operation and day operation and, as a result of the construction of the day sight as a carrying handle, the hand gun which is equipped therewith can be transported more easily and conveniently. The changeover from the night sight to the day sight is carried out by means of a pivoting mirror which is arranged between the eyepiece optics and the remaining optical parts. <IMAGE>
