A unit is proposed which is used for pumping fuel from a storage tank to an internal combustion engine. The fuel pump unit comprises a pump part and, assigned thereto, an electric drive motor comprising stator plates. The pump part and the drive motor are enclosed by a common casing, through which the fuel flows and which, in its inner chamber, has a stop shoulder on which, via a spacer, the stator plates are braced in the axial direction. An advantageous arrangement of components necessary to control the electric motor is achieved if, fixed to the spacer, there is a supporting part which comprises these components. <IMAGE>
