Novel substituted N-(2-pyridyloxyphenyl)-N-(phenylthio)-N'-benzoylureas of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 denotes hydrogen or halogen; R2 denotes halogen or methyl; R3 denotes halogen, methyl or nitro; R4 and R5 denote hydrogen; R6 and R7 denote hydrogen, halogen or methyl; R8 denotes hydrogen or chlorine; R9 denotes chlorine, perhalogenated methyl or perhalogenated ethyl and n denotes the number 0, 1 or 2; the preparation of these compounds, and compositions containing them for use in pest control, in particular for controlling insects and representatives of the order of the Acarina which attack plants and animals. The novel compounds have larvicidal activity against insects which are harmful to plants.
