1. Arrangement for guiding a wire or ribbon shaped cutting electrode (1) on a machine tool with the aid of an upper and a lower electrode guide head (3, 4) and also with first drive means (40a, 40b, 41) for the purpose of drawing the cutting electrode (1) axially through the work area and with counter-holding means (31, 32, 34) acting on the cutting electrode (1) for the purpose of producing a defined axial tensile stress in the cutting electrode (1), characterised in that the first drive means (40a, 40b, 41) are arranged in the area of an electrode guide head (4) and the counter-holding means (31, 32, 34) are arranged in the area of the other electrode guide head (3) in such a way that tensile stress necessary for the electroerosion operation acts upon the cutting electrode (1) only in the work area and the other electrode guide area is kept free of increased tensile stresses on the cutting electrode (1). |
