In order to prevent the freezing up of diesel fuel systems in diesel motor vehicles, a system is designed which utilises available hot air, available hot water and available battery current. The heat of the exhaust system is used to produce warm air and to conduct it to those points in the diesel motor vehicle which in winter, especially at extremely low temperatures, make the motor vehicle unfit for operation. At the same time, in addition, exhaust emissions as in summer are obtained. The system functions in a similar way using hot water from the water pump instead of the heat of the exhaust system. This represents an alternative for motor vehicles with cooling water system. In addition at extremely low temperatures battery current is used for the heating of points especially prone to freezing.
