Rail-mounted summer bob sleigh

The summer bob sleigh is used for travelling over a sloping terrain with stationary fixed rails. Travel takes place under the effect of gravity, with no additional drive. The bob sleigh is conveyed to the highest point of the installation by ski lifts. A downhill run of about 115 m long is necessary for the bob sleigh. The maximum speed is restricted to 40 km/h by an automatically acting braking device. In addition, the speed can be individually restricted by the driver via hand and foot brakes. Two people are permitted for each bob sleigh. The driver and passenger are secured by belts. The bob sleighs consist of a steel tubular construction with plastic lining, towing apparatus, calliper brakes with multiple actuation, automatic speed regulation, four running rollers with counter-rollers and an automatic ratchet for the uphill region. The rail installation is formed from a supporting pipe and two lateral running rails made from round pipes. For winter operation of the ski lift, the rail installation can be partly dismantled so that no interfering components are present on the ski piste, on the surface of the terrain. <IMAGE>
