The invention relates to a method for reliable transmission of information between data stations in which the receiving station acknowledges reception. If the acknowledgement is absent, the information transmission is repeated, an increase in the reliability of the transmission, particularly in the case of control commands, being achieved by transmitting a predefined number of repetitions within a monitoring time (tv) and by forwarding the transmitted data records to peripheral devices only if the received data record is not a repetition, a record counter (SZ) being entered in each data set which is not transmitted as a repetition (WK = 0). The invention can be used particularly for information transmission in telecontrol systems. <IMAGE>
